About IZU Peninsula

izupeninsula.net is an independent, English-language guide to the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.

From 2016 to 2019 this address hosted a Japanese-language guide to Izu, written by people who loved the peninsula: its glittering sea, its green mountains, the dried fish hanging in the streets. In 2026 the site was relaunched by new editors as an English guide. Pages that readers and other sites still link to keep their original addresses and have been rewritten in English and updated; nothing from the original site is reproduced.
